ANTHONY JOSHUA STOPS CARLOS TAKAM!!

Anthony Joshua stopped a resilient Carlos Takam in the 10th round to successfully defend his IBF and WBA heavyweight world titles in Cardiff.

The Briton made it 20 victories from as many bouts in front of an estimated 78,000 at the Principality Stadium. Joshua’s nose was cut in the second by the head of Takam, 36, who replaced Kubrat Pulev 12 days before the bout. Joshua, 28, then cut Takam’s eye in the fourth, but it took until round 10 for the Cameroon-born boxer to be stopped.

The referee’s decision was booed by the crowd in Wales, who clearly felt it was premature, but Joshua said he has “no interest” in what the officials do. “I come to fight, I don’t sit on the edge and make decisions,” he said. “It was a good fight until the ref stopped it, so I have the utmost respect for Takam. “I have no interest in what is going on with the officials, that’s not my job.

I think people want to see Takam unconscious on the floor, and that’s what I was trying to get to.” Watford fighter Joshua confirmed his nose had been broken by Takam when the pair clashed heads in the second round. “I had to keep my cool,” added Joshua. “I’ve got a few months to heal it up. I’ll go and see some good doctors to crack it back in place. “If I showed any signs of weakness, the ref could have jumped in. That’s what he (Takam) tried to do, but the ref stopped it.”

Takam said: “I want a rematch, I made my preparations with 12 days to fight Anthony. I want to box him again. I want him, he is a great champion.”

FOODS TO AVOID IN THIS MONKEYPOX VIRAL DISEASE ERA

The Federal Ministry of Health has told Nigerians to avoid the consumption of monkeys, bush meat and dead animal as doing so could expose one to the risk of Monkey Pox disease.

Currently in Bayelsa State, a medical doctor and no fewer than 10 persons have reportedly been quarantined as a result of the virus. The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, gave the advice in a statement by the Director, Media and Public Relations in the ministry, Boade Akinola, on Thursday According to the minister, the disease neither had a cure nor a vaccine, noting, however, that there was no cause for alarm as it was mild. The statement read in part,

“He (Adewole) said the virus was mild and there was no known treatment and no preventive vaccines , hence the public should be at alert and avoid crowded places as much as possible. “He advised the public to avoid eating dead animals, bushmeat and particularly bush monkeys.” The minister also revealed that test samples had been sent to the World Health Organization (laboratory ) in Senegal but the result was still being awaited. He, however, called on Nigerians, who had symptoms of fever, back pain and rashes resembling chicken pox, to report to the hospital. It added, “The symptoms include headache, fever, back pains and in advanced cases, rashes bigger than those caused by chicken pox.”

ISIS CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY FOR LAS VEGAS SHOOTING

Isis has claimed responsibility for the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history as it continues to lose territory in its self-declared “caliphate”.

Police said at least 58 people were killed and 500 victims wounded when a gunman opened fire on dense crowds at a concert in Las Vegas.

Officials have identified the shooter as Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old white American who had multiple weapons on the 32nd floor of a nearby hotel, where he is believed to have killed himself. A statement published by the group’s Amaq propaganda agency claimed the attacker was a “soldier of the Islamic State”.

“The Las Vegas attacker is a soldier of the Islamic State in response to calls to target coalition countries,” it said. Isis also claimed the gunman “converted to Islam several months ago, without providing more details. Paddock’s religion and lifestyle have not yet emerged elsewhere. The wording of the release is similar to other attacks that have been inspired, rather than directed, by Isis.

BREAKING! ! NIGERIA IS NOT WORKING! ..LET US GO OUR SEPARATE WAYS..NORTHERN ELDERS SHOCK BUHARI

The Northern Elders Forum, NEF, has called for the immediate break-up of Nigeria, saying: “Let us go our separate ways, because the country called Nigeria is not working.”

The call was made by the Spokesman of the NEF, Professor Ango Abdullahi, who revealed that God did not create Nigeria, but Lord Lugard did, hence the need for the regions brought together by the colonial master to go their separate ways.

Abdullahi in a telephone interview with The Nation Newspaper, said Nigerians should waste no further time in correcting the mistake of Lord Lugard.According to him:

“I have spoken extensively on this issue of restructuring, and I gave reasons why Nigeria has failed. The elites have insisted that Nigeria should work, which is why I am advocating that the mistake Lugard made in 1914 should be revisited.

“Lugard made mistake by bringing us together, and I don’t take it that God made this country, it was Lugard who made it. And now that we have agreed that he has made a mistake, we should correct it. Correcting it here means that we should go to the structures he put together, and go our separate ways; or at best, I support the position taken by the South-West, that we should go to our former regions. That is my position.

“If we cannot work Nigeria for 100 years, we should do something else, and doing something else means that we either go our separate ways, or go back to a point where our Leaders agreed for once that Nigeria should gain independence, but the original federal system. I also agree with the South-West’s position that we should have our parliamentary system back.“We should stop wasting time by organising constitutional conferences.

Each time we organise the constitutional conference, they will say there is nothing wrong with the provisions of our Constitution, it is the people working it that are not implementing it properly. So, this shows that it is the Nigeria political class and the elites that have failed.

So, why don’t we stop now and retrace our steps and go back to 1960? “If we go our separate ways, I believe the people in the West as they always argue, will do like our father, Chief Awolowo did, people in the East will do like Zik did, and people in the North will do the same that Sardauna left for us. “It is because the political class are selfish, that they don’t want to hear these views.

They don’t want to hear that Nigeria is divisible, which is nonsense. “You can’t say that Nigeria’s unity is non-negotiable, it is not true, because the President said recently that Nigeria’s unity has been settled. It has not been settled. So, you cannot say Nigeria’s unity is non-negotiable”, he said.

woman cuts off her labia in a designer vagina surgery uses it as a necklace !!

Tracy, a former glamour model and single mum-of-two, has made a necklace from her labia which was cut off during designer vagina surgery. Tracy revealed she has suffered with pain and tenderness her whole life from her protruding labia.

 She wrote on her blog:

“As a result I’d missed out on so many hobbies and interests that I love and had to be mindful with tight clothing, exercise and intercourse because of the discomfort it caused simply because I didn’t know anything could be done about it – I thought all women were just as tender as I.”

According to Daily Mirror, after realising something could be done Tracy turned to surgery in December 2016, had her labia removed and changed her whole life. For a while, Tracy kept her labia “floating in a jar” on her kitchen dresser, but they didn’t ‘keep’ as well as she had hoped.

I know that keeping body parts may not be to everybody’s taste,” Tracy explains. However with time, the cut off tissue has discoloured from pink to a pale grey, crinkled up in the surgical fluid and turned curly which has made them less of a trophy and more of a Halloween accessory so I’ve been looking into ways to more effectively preserve them long term.”

She set about ‘drying out’ her labia on a makeshift washing line using Christmas card pegs, an ice cream box and cotton string. She applied several coats of textured, pearl-finish paint – red, to match her bold nails and lipstick – dried them with a hairdryer and then dusted them off with glitter.

She then set the labia into resin using an oval-shaped mould and, voila, she had a necklace pendant ready. The model and blogger shared her story to raise awareness about circumcision, in the hope that no other women suffer for so long the way she did.

BREAKING! ! NNAMDI KANU CALLS FOR DIALOGUE WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

The leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra , Nnamdi Kanu, through his lawyers, Ifeanyi Ejiofor and Amoebi Nzelu, has called for negotiation with the Federal Government to end the agitation for self-governance.

Nnamdi Kanu a London based Nigerian was arrested for allegations of treasonable felony, maintaining unlawful society, illegal possession of items and many others. The allegations against Nnamdi Kanu also include a plot by the IPOB leader and some persons now at large to cause crises that might force President Mohammed Buhari, to concede certain parts of Nigeria to a purported Biafra Nation.

Kanu’s lawyers while reacting to the Federal Government’s decision on Thursday to release some members of the group it arrested in February, said they were not opposed to talks with the Government.Mr Ejiofor said, “Nnamdi Kanu is not averse to a political solution in resolving his present politically orchestrated ordeal.

“He welcomes genuine political solution to this case. Nnamdi Kanu has people of proven integrity and impeccable character that will negotiate on his behalf, based on his demands when communication on this effect is established.”

However, on the claims that the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, was negotiating on behalf of Kanu and IPOB, the lawyer said, “In the past few day, the media was awash with news on negotiation going on between the Federal government and members of MEND, where our client’s name (Nnamdi Kanu) conspicuously featured.

“It is on that note that we wish to inform the general public that Nnamdi Kanu has no connection, contact, ties or any kind of relationship with members of the MEND.As such MEND has no implied, direct or express authority of Nnamdi Kanu to represent him or IPOB in any purported negotiation going on between MEND and the Government.

“The general public is accordingly advised to ignore, discountenance and disregard the falsehood been peddled by MEND.”

FULL TEXT OF PRESIDENT BUHARI'S INDEPENDENCE DAY SPEECH

President Muhammadu Buhari has kick-started the activities to mark the 57 anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence with a nationwide broadcast. In his address, the President spoke about calls for restructuring, agitations in the country, the progress his administration has made in the areas of security, economy and in moving the country forward and the challenges facing the nation.

Read the full text of his speech below:

My dear Nigerians, October 1st remains a special date for all Nigerians as this marks the day when we attained one of the most precious of human desires — freedom. Over the years the country has gone through trials and tribulations, but October 1st is always a day for celebrations. It is a day for thanksgiving, reflection and re-dedication. It is also a day for remembrance. We should remind ourselves of the recent journey from 1999 – 2015, when our country happily returned to democratic rule. However, in spite of oil prices being an average of $100 per barrel and about 2.1m barrels a day, that great piece of luck was squandered and the country’s social and physical infrastructure neglected. We were left with no savings and huge infrastructure deficit. The APC Government’s Campaign rallying cry to restore security, re-balance the economy and fight corruption was not all rhetoric. The country must first be secured. The economy must be re-balanced so that we do not depend on oil alone. We must fight corruption which is Nigeria’s Number One Enemy. Our Administration is tackling these tasks in earnest. In the past two years, Nigeria has recorded appreciable gains in political freedom. A political Party at the Centre losing elections of State Governor, National Assembly seat and even State Assemblies to the opposition parties is new to Nigeria. Added to these are complete freedom to associate, to hold and disseminate opinions. Such developments clearly attest to the country’s growing political development. But like all freedoms, this is open to abuse. Recent calls on re-structuring, quite proper in a legitimate debate, has let in highly irresponsible groups to call for dismemberment of the country. We can not and we will not allow such advocacy. As a young Army Officer, I took part from the beginning to the end in our tragic civil war costing about 2m lives, resulting in fearful destruction and untold suffering. Those who are agitating for a re-run were not born by 1967 and have no idea of the horrendous consequences of the civil conflict which we went through.

I am very disappointed that responsible leaders of these communities do not warn their hot-headed youths what the country went through. Those who were there should tell those who were not there, the consequences of such folly. At all events, proper dialogue and any desired constitutional changes should take place in a rational manner, at the National and State Assemblies. These are the proper and legal fora for National debate, not some lop-sided, un-democratic body with pre-determined set of objectives.

Government is keeping up the momentum of dialogue with stakeholders in the Niger Delta to keep the peace. We intend to address genuine grievances of the communities. Government is grateful to the responsible leadership of those communities and will pursue lasting peace in the Niger Delta. SECURITY On security, Nigerians must be grateful to our gallant Armed Forces for rolling back the frontiers of Boko Haram’s terrorism, defeating them and reducing them to cowardly attacks on soft and vulnerable targets. Nigeria is grateful to its neighbours and the international community for the collective efforts to defeat this world-wide menace of terrorism. Not even the most organized and most equipped police and security forces in the world can escape the menace of modern day terrorism, as we have seen in recent years in Europe and other parts of the world. But we are not letting up. Our Armed Forces in an effort to enhance the operational capability of troops of OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE have established Mobile Strike Teams in the North East.

These will ensure the final push to wipe out the remnants of Boko Haram. In addition, through targeted air strikes most of the leadership and identified logistics bases and routes of the insurgents have been neutralized. The Armed Forces have established a Naval presence in the Lake Chad Basin as part of the coordinated military efforts to curtail the movements or re-emergence of the sect in the area.

Government is working round the clock to ensure release of the remaining Chibok girls, as well as other persons in Boko Haram captivity. Government will continue to support the Armed Forces and other security agencies to fight not only terrorism, but kidnapping, armed robberies, herdsmen/farmers violence and to ensure peace, stability and security in our country.

 ECONOMY

With respect to the economy, the Government has remained pro-active in its diversification policy. The Federal Government’s agricultural Anchor Borrowers Programme, which I launched in November 2015, has been an outstanding success with: · N43.92 billion released through the CBN and 13 participating institutions, · 200,000 small holder farmers from 29 states of the federation benefitting, · 233,000 hectares of farmland cultivating eight commodities, namely Rice, Wheat, Maize, Cotton, soya-beans, Poultry, Cassava and Groundnuts, in addition to fish farming.

These initiatives have been undertaken in close collaboration with the states. I wish to commend the efforts of the Governors of Kebbi, Lagos, Ebonyi and Jigawa States for their support to the rice and fertilizer revolutions. Equally commendable are contributions of the Governors of Ondo, Edo, Delta, Imo, Cross River, Benue, Ogun, Kaduna and Plateau States for their support for the Presidential initiative for palm oil, rubber, cashew, cassava, potatoes and other crops.

With the abundance of rainfall last year and this year, agriculture has enjoyed Divine intervention. Since December last year, this Administration has produced over 7 million 50Kg bags of fertilizer. Eleven blending plants with a capacity of 2.1 million metric tons have been reactivated. We have saved $150 million in foreign exchange and N60 billion in subsidy. Fertilizer prices have dropped from N13,000 per 50Kg bag to N5,500.

Furthermore, a new presidential initiative is starting with each state of the Federation creating a minimum of 10,000 jobs for unemployed youths, again with the aid of CBN’s development finance initiatives. Power remains a huge problem. As of September 12th, production of power reached an all — time high of 7,001 Megawatts. Government is increasing its investment, clearing up the operational and financial log jam bedeviling the industry.

We hope to reach 10,000 Megawatts by 2020. Key priorities include better energy mix through solar and Hydro technologies. I am glad to say that after many years of limbo, Mambilla Power Project has taken off. Elsewhere in the economy the special window created for manufacturers, investors and exporters, foreign exchange requirements has proved very effective. Since April, about $7 billion has come through this window alone.

The main effect of these policies is improved confidence in the economy and better investment sentiments. The country has recorded 7 consecutive months of lower inflation, Naira rate is beginning to stabilize, appreciating from N525 per $1 in February this year to N360 today. Broad-based economic growth is leading us out of recession. Furthermore, in order to stabilize the polity, the Federal Government gave additional support to states in the form of: · State Excess Crude Account loans, · Budget Support Facility, · Stabilization Fund Release to states and local governments as follows: · N200 billion in 2015 · N441 billion in 2016 · N1 trillion in 2017 Altogether totaling N1.642 trillion.

This was done to enable states to pay outstanding salaries, pensions and small business suppliers who had been all but crippled over the years. In addition, the Government’s current N500 billion Special Intervention Programme is targeting groups through; · Home Grown School Feeding Programme, · N-Power Job creation to provide loans to small-scale traders and artisans, · Conditional Cash Transfer, · Family Homes Fund and · Social Housing Scheme. CORRUPTION Fellow Nigerians, We are fully aware that fighting corruption was never going to be a straightforward task. We expected corrupt elements to use any weapon to fight back, mainly judicial obstruction and political diversion.

But we are determined to eradicate corruption from our body politic. In this fight, the Government has: · Empowered teams of prosecutors, · Assembled detailed databases, · Accelerated the recovery of stolen funds. The Administration’s new institutional reforms include: · Enforcing Treasury Single Account, · Whistle-Blowers Policy, · Integrated Payroll Personnel and Information System. We have signed multi-lateral cooperation agreements on criminal matters with friendly countries. There are signs of increasing cooperation from the Judiciary. Recently the Chief Justice of Nigeria directed Heads of all our Courts of first instance and Appeal to accelerate hearings of corruption cases and dismiss any judicial officers found to have been compromised. Justice Salami has just been appointed to chair the Judiciary’s anti-graft committee. Government expects a lot from this Committee. I commend the National Assembly for refocusing on its oversight committees.

They should, in addition, ensure swift passage of enabling corruption laws. But fighting corruption is a bottom to top operation. I call on all Nigerians to combat corruption at every turn. By not asking for and refusing to accept a bribe, by reporting unethical practices or by blowing a whistle, together we can beat corruption. The government for its part will work for accountability at all levels – Federal, State and Local Governments. CHANGE will then be real. As we enter the second half of our term of office, we intend to accelerate progress and intensify our resolve to fix the country’s challenges and problems.

Thank you and a happy holiday to all of you. God bless our country

JOHESU SUSPENDS NATIONWIDE STRIKE! !

The Joint Health Sector Union has suspended its industrial action in principle. The suspension follows a conciliation meeting between its leadership and representatives of the Federal Government in Abuja on Saturday.

Consequently, the union has asked its members across the country to resume work on Wednesday next week after a meeting of its executive members to ratify the decision on Tuesday. Health workers under the union had started an industrial action on September 21, a day after it declared the strike. They went on strike one week after the Federal Government resolved the dispute with resident doctors.

The union had demanded the revamp of infrastructure in the tertiary health institutions; report of the inter-ministerial sub-committee on critical matters in the health sector; professional autonomy; among others. Saturday’s meeting between the leadership of the union and representatives of the Federal Government was the second reconciliatory meeting between both sides.

The first meeting between both sides earlier in the week had ended in a deadlock with both sides disagreeing on the legality of the strike. At the meeting which was chaired by the Federal Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, and Health Minister, Issac Adewole, Ngige accused the health workers of failing to abide by the country’s labour laws. But the union insisted that no labour law had been violated by their action.

Both ministers were absent at Saturday’s meeting and were represented by the Minister of State for Labour and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health. The Joint Health Sector Workers Union is made up of National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Senior Staff Association of Universities’ Teaching Hospitals, Research Institutes and Associated Institutions, Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals, among others.

NIGERIA WON'T BREAK UP UNDER MY WATCH ..PRESIDENT BUHARI

President Muhammadu Buhari vowed never to allow Nigeria breakup under him. Buhari made his position known in a national speech to mark the nation’s 57th independence anniversary on Saturday.

He is expected to address the nation at 7am on Sunday (today).

The President said under his watch, Nigeria had witnessed what he called political freedom that saw opposition parties winning elections at the state and National Assembly levels. He said the growing political development, like all freedoms, was open to abuse, hence the recent development.

He noted that those agitating for a repeat of the nation’s civil war that claimed two million lives were not born by 1967 and had no idea of the consequences of the conflict. Buhari said he was also disappointed in some community leaders who witnessed the war and still failed to warn their “hot-headed” youths of what the nation passed through.

He said the assignment could not be left in the hands of “some lopsided, un-democratic body with a pre-determined set of objectives.”

The President said, “In the past two years, Nigeria has recorded appreciable gains in political freedom. A political party at the centre losing governorship elections, National Assembly seats and even state assemblies to opposition parties is new to Nigeria. “Added to these is a complete freedom to associate, to hold and disseminate opinions.

Such developments clearly attest to the country’s growing political development. “Recent calls for re-structuring, quite proper in a legitimate debate, has let in highly irresponsible groups to call for dismemberment of the country.

We cannot and we will not allow such advocacy He reiterated his position that any desired constitutional change should take place in a rational manner only at the national and state Houses of Assembly.

Unity in diversity.  Equity  justice, application of the rule of law to the fullest detail

Nepotism should be thrown to the annals of history and true federalism embraced.

Better jollof rice cooking and eating to our nationals! !..😄😄😄

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A GREAT NATION
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY TO NIGERIA! !
