Fulani herdsmen strike in Plateau State

Tragedy struck Ancha Village in Miango district of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State Friday when suspected herdsmen reportedly killed 20 persons and injured several others in an attack. 

The Spokesperson of the Plateau Police Command, ASP Terna Tyopev, confirmed the attack. Tyopev said, “Yes, we are aware of the attack”.

 The suspected herdsmen had reportedly launched the attack on the community in the early hours of Friday, leaving 18 dead at the scene. The dead includes seven male, five female and six children with over 10 sustaining gunshot wounds, as well as deep machete cuts.
