Help us save lives in Cameroon...GLOBAL CANCER AWARENESS

Healthy Steps AID to raise awareness of breast cancer, inform and empower. Hello, I'm Grace Ekall. I am twice a breast cancer survivor.

Before my first diagnosis in 2005, I was unaware that black women can get cancer and I'd never seen anyone or heard about someone in my community that suffer from the disease.

Cancer is a taboo subject in the Cameroon even though 1 in 5 are diagnosed and many die in silenence. In some regions, cancer it's believed to be a curse from the gods.

Knowledge really is power - and our mission is to empower women and girls in Cameroon, to educate themselves about breast cancer, self-help strategies, the power of food, holistic approaches, freedom of speech about their body and health, transforming their lives, and showing them how to help and support each other. A system that will certainly improve their rate of surviving the disease.

Getting an early diagnosis and not be ashamed to talk about it. Distressing images of women diagnosed at late stage was send to me and it is inhuman to be deteriorating while still alive. This is what happen to many that do not talk about their cancer. Please Help Us Educate And Save Lives.
